How should I control leatherjackets?Updated 8 months ago

To control leatherjackets, you need nematodes, specifically Felti or Carpo, depending on the soil temperature:

  • For soil temperatures above 14 degrees, you can use Carpo.
  • For soil temperatures below 14 degrees, Felti is most effective.

The first treatment can be done from April through June. To prevent the leatherjackets from returning, a repeat treatment in late August and again in mid-October is recommended.

Read more about this on the pest page for leatherjackets.
